The finishing touch to any mani/pedi is to seal it with a top coat. I’ve tried many and it’s safe to say these are my top 3!
My most favourite of them all is China Glaze: Fast Forward Top Coat. I love everything about this one from the brush to the consistency. I find that it’s thicker than most which I love, it gives almost a shellac look! ($6.49)
My second favorite is PRO-FX Quick Dry, I haven’t had this product for long but I really do love it. It’s very inexpensive and you get so much product. The consistency is great and a little really does go a long way. ($4.99)
Last but not least is OPI’s Rapid Dry Top Coat. I love the shine it leaves but I feel as though it doesn’t last as long as the other two.
DIY: Sparkle Booties
Inspired by: CO-OP Barneys New York Glitter Ankle Boot ($245)
I loved the booties from Barneys that I saw a while back, but there was no way I could afford almost $300 on a pair of boots! I decided to make my own cheap version.
What I used: Ankle boots from Payless, Elmers glitter in gold and Elmers tacky glue.
Simply put the glue on the back of the bootie (Or wherever you want some sparkle!) smooth it out with either a brush or your finger then spring on glitter while the glue is still wet.
Let dry and that’s it, a brand new pair of boots!
Everythings better with a little sparkle!
This is a simple look thats easy to do but has a big effect!
1) Start with a base coat of any colour - I chose Pink Lingerinie by Revlon.
2) Choose a glitter/sparkle nail polish (preferably same colour) - I chose Sangria by True Colors. Start at the top of the nail and slowly fade down to about mid nail. Wait for the first layer to dry, then go in with the brush again and add more polish to the top for more of a gradient effect.
3) Seal the polish in with a top coat. I used Pro-FX Quick Dry. Definitely recommend it!
